Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Float Pool member to support multiple ambulatory sites including Ronald Reagan Hospital and Santa Monica Hospital. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy, triaging samples, processing specimens, and maintaining documentation.

Per diem scheduling with possible weekend/holiday rotations and potential career conversion. The role requires a valid California CPT certificate and at least 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience,

Qualifications

• Current and valid California State CPT certificate.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).
• Must have two years of recent phlebotomy experience OR one year of in-patient hospital phlebotomy experience.
• Experience using Epic Rover.
• Skill in reading and writing English to understand technical protocols/procedures and to write brief accurate patient data.
• Proficient in using a computer and printer.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients for all ages.

• Centrifuge, measure and aliquot and/or preserve.
• Enter and verify patient and test info into computer.
• Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.

• Prepare written reports to document phlebotomy draws, test results, test added, or deleted/rejected specimens.
• Prepare batch or outside lab referral specimens' documentation.
• Perform inventory count.
• Assist in monitoring workflow and schedules.

This is a per diem position and you may not necessarily be assigned to work the entire shift. Rather, you will be assigned to work based on operational needs with rotating weekends and holidays.

Salary Range: $31.82 - $31.82/hour
