Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT1 or CPT2).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Minimum 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, skin puncture, and pediatric draws.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patient-centered care.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in high-volume settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection, processing, and laboratory support functions to ensure timely patient care.
• Venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures.
• Proper specimen labeling and handling.
• Documentation in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Coordination with clinical and laboratory teams to support efficient workflows.
• Ability to travel between UCLA Health community oncology practice sites as needed.
