Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and support pre-analytic and analytic workflows. You will receive and accession specimens, enter orders, and help with post-analytic tasks in a patient-centric, compliant environment.

The role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, adherence to privacy and safety rules, teamwork, and effective communication with a diverse patient population. Regular day shifts, with one weekend per month, 30 total weekly hours.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• CA CPT I or CPT II license required.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing processes and safety regulations.
• Ability to interact compassionately with patients.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens and receives, handles and processes specimens for testing.
• Performs patient registration and test-order entry tasks.
• Distributes reports and stores or retrieves specimens.
• Maintains clean, stocked and safe work area and documents work.
