Job summary

Cottage Health in Santa Barbara, CA seeks a Certified Phlebotomy Tech (CPT) for its Central Processing department. Under supervision, the CPT will perform phlebotomy across age groups, process specimens, and handle data entry in LIS/HIS with attention to workflow and client service.

Travel between Cottage Health locations using a personal vehicle may be required. Qualified candidates will have a CA phlebotomy certification, a valid CA driver license, and preferred experience with lab

Qualifications

• Preferred Associate’s degree or two-year equivalency.
• Current California phlebotomy certification.
• Valid Class C California Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and skin puncture techniques for patients from newborn to geriatric.
• Process all specimen types and operate Laboratory Information Systems for data entry.
• Receive, batch, retrieve specimens and manage unreceived specimen list.
• Provide client services and handle unusual requests.
• Operate automated instrumentation as needed and travel between locations.
