Job summary

Johns Hopkins Community Physicians – Canton Crossing in Baltimore, MD is hiring for a Lab Technician - Certified Phlebotomist. Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Pay Range: $27–$29 per hour.

You will collect specimens from adult and pediatric patients, perform venipuncture and other collection techniques, ensure proper patient identification, and maintain a safe, clean work area while entering data into the laboratory information system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• NAACLS-approved phlebotomy program with clinical rotation within last 5 years or formal two-part accredited phlebotomy training within last 5 years.
• ASCP-PBT or equivalent phlebotomy certification from an approved agency.
• Two years of experience as a Lab Technician OR 6 months experience with current phlebotomy certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from adult and pediatric patients, including possibly complex cases.
• Perform venipuncture and other collection techniques per area procedures.
• Maintain proper patient identification procedures and communicate with clinical staff as needed.
• Maintain inventory and ensure a clean, sanitary work environment for next use.
• Enter data into patient files and laboratory information systems.

Education

High school diploma or GED

NAACLS-approved phlebotomy program with clinical rotation within last 5 years

ASCP-PBT Phlebotomy Certification or equivalent

Two years of Lab Technician experience or 6 months plus certification
