Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to perform specimen collection, labeling and handling.
• Strong focus on infection control and patient safety, including PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and draw blood using proper techniques.
• Prepare specimens and ensure proper labeling and transport.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy areas and carts.
• Follow LIS to track orders, print labels, and receive specimens.
• Adhere to department policies, HIPAA and privacy regulations.
• Verify patient identity using two identifiers per policy.
• Respond to adverse reactions and escalating when needed.
• Attend mandatory education and maintain competency as required.
