Job summary

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to provide hands-on support for patients and pharmacists, enabling total quality patient care across the medication continuum. Candidates must be nationally certified and state-registered, with 1+ years of experience (5+ preferred) and a strong command of Microsoft Office.

The role involves entering prescriptions, assisting with adherence checks, handling insurance issues, and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician; must be registered and nationally certified as a CPhT or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; ability to obtain state certification if needed.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and enter prescriptions.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist or clinician as appropriate.
• Label and fill prescriptions for pharmacist to verify.
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Identify medications requiring special storage or handling.
• Prepare medications for delivery to patients and departments.
• Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries.
• Provide outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups.
• Secure refill prescriptions.
• Assist patients with insurance-related issues and financial assistance forms.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and drug ordering/receiving.
• Communicate with patients by phone to assist medication awareness.
• Input data and adjudicate test claims; plan follow-ups.
• Manage and update data using database applications.
• Suggest improvements to productivity and quality.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Protect confidentiality of information.
