Job Description
  • Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists with the functioning of the unit-dose distribution system, assists with the preparation of intravenous admixtures and delivery of medication to patient units.
  • Responsible for assisting with ordering, receiving and delivery of medication and supplies. Responsible for inspection of assigned medication storage areas throughout the hospital.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School graduate or the equivalent or currently enrolled in a program which awards such degree or certificate.
  • A pharmacy technician currently licensed by the Board of Pharmacy who is PTCB (or other Board-approved entity) certified. Must be at least 18 years old.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in a hospital pharmacy is desired.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Able to identify scope of task and perform it in a timely and efficient manner. Must be able to communicate effectively and work as a team member.
  • Must have good telephone etiquette.
