The Tennessee Department of Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing and pre-packing medications in Nashville, TN. The role involves maintaining patient profiles, processing orders, and communicating medication-related information to the pharmacy team.

Under supervision, you will ensure accuracy, maintain inventories, and comply with state regulations. Registration and certification must be kept current; a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Possession of Pharmacy Technician Certification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
• Registration as a pharmacy technician with the State of Tennessee Board of Pharmacy is required upon employment.
• The Certification and registration must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsabilités

• Fills medication orders under supervision of a pharmacist and labels correctly.
• Processes medication orders by entering data and checking for drug-related problems.
• Communicates with pharmacist, medical staff, and vendors about medication issues.
• Delivers medication to/from pharmacy and nursing stations as needed.
• Monitors high-risk medications and inventory levels.
• Completes continuing education to maintain certification.
