Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in providing timely, accurate medications to patients. duties include sterile and non-sterile compounding, packaging, inventory control, and billing under direct supervision.

The role offers training, a pathway to the elevated Certified Pharmacy Tech – Sterile Compounding program, and benefits typical of a full-time position. Prior tech experience and Ohio certification are valued.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
• Licensure / Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Active registration as a Certified Tech with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
• Effective communication skills and mathematical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of sterile products (including chemotherapy) using aseptic technique, in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Preparation of non-sterile products (including hazardous medication), in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Repackaging of bulk oral medication using Parata Systems and Medical Packaging Inc robots.
• Facilitating medication dispensing via Automated Dispensing Cabinets on patient care units.
• Assists in the dispensing of orders/prescriptions through the pharmacy inventory system.
• Assists in inventory control by processing daily Pharmacy Department orders; proper stock rotation, storage and expiration dating; escalate as needed.
• Assists the department with proper billing of patients and other units.
