Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is hiring a Pharmacy Technician 2 Certified in Chicago. You will perform prescription data entry, labeling, and prepare medication orders up to final pharmacist checking.

This role supports both retail and hospital pharmacy operations with a focus on accuracy, speed, and patient safety. Requirements include an Illinois Pharmacy Technician license, PTCB/CPhT (EXCPT acceptable), a high school diploma, and at least two years of customer-service pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Must hold Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• Must hold or be grandfathered to PTCB/CPhT (EXCPT acceptable).
• Minimum two years in a customer-service oriented pharmacy environment.
• Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible schedule and reliability are essential.
• Strong problem solving and communication abilities.
• Able to work independently, maintain organization, and collaborate with team.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in acquiring and preparing prescriptions.
• Label and data-enter orders up to dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Perform sterile admixture preparation support as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient inventory and pricing in the system.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety procedures.
• Provide courteous customer service and resolve patient questions promptly.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
• Participate in department meetings and continuing education.
