Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure required.
• Current PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or EXCPT required.
• Grandfathered licensees from before 2008 may continue without new certification.
• At least two years of customer-service pharmacy experience.
• Excellent data entry and keyboarding skills.
• Flexible with work schedule and able to respond quickly.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and identifies drug classes and their generic/trade names.
• Assists pharmacists in coordinating sterile admixture preparation.
• Performs pharmaceutical math with basic/conversion skills and dose calculations.
• Understands drug storage, dosage forms, and compounding techniques.
• Maintains data entry accuracy for orders, pricing, and billing.
• Resolves questions with pharmacist and answers general inquiries.
• Keeps IV room and equipment clean, calibrated, and compliant.
• Updates patient inventory usage in the system; communicates changes.
• Delivers prompt, courteous customer service and maintains organized work area.
• Orders stock ahead to prevent shortages and follows up on back orders.
