Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure required.
• PTCB Certification and/or EXCPT required; grandfathered licenses allowed.
• At least two years in a customer service pharmacy environment.
• Excellent data entry skills.
• Flexibility with work schedule.
• Strong problem solving and independent work ability.

Responsibilities

• Recognizes and identifies drug classes and brand/generic names.
• Assists pharmacists in coordinating sterile admixture prep.
• Performs pharmaceutical math, dose calculations and conversions.
• Familiar with storage requirements and compounding techniques.
• Data entry, labeling, drug pricing, and third-party billing.
• Researches information and routes questions to a pharmacist.
• Maintains IV prep room cleanliness and equipment calibration.
• Updates patient inventory usage in the system.
• Keeps work area organized; manages stock and shelf replenishment.
• Maintains CE hours for CPhT; attends department meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
