Qualifications

  • Use of Telephone, computer systems, laminar airflow hoods, packaging and compounding equipment, copiers, fax machines and other office equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational leadership for pharmacy technicians across multiple Rush community (retail) pharmacy locations to ensure safe, efficient, and patient‑centered pharmacy services.
  • Leads technician staffing, scheduling, workforce planning, and daily operations to support evolving patient care needs and maintain appropriate service levels across all locations.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, onboards, develops, and evaluates pharmacy technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Designs, coordinates, and oversees technician orientation, training, competency assessment, and annual performance evaluations to ensure standardized practices and consistent performance across the community pharmacy network.
  • Administers performance improvement and corrective action processes in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
  • Partners with pharmacy leadership to develop, implement, and optimize new pharmacy services, workflows, and contemporary care delivery models that improve patient access, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Identifies opportunities for workflow standardization, operational improvement, and technology optimization to support the continued growth of community pharmacy services.
  • Fosters effective communication and collaboration among pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, pharmacy leadership, and interdisciplinary partners to promote teamwork and exceptional patient care.
  • Oversees technician staffing assignments and adjusts schedules to meet fluctuating workload demands while maintaining operational continuity. Maintains proficiency in pharmacy technician responsibilities and serves as an operational resource when needed.
  • Oversees the creation, maintenance, retention, and reporting of documentation related to technician scheduling, orientation, training, competency assessment, and other required operational and regulatory records.
  • Establishes and monitors technician quality standards, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards, organizational policies, and departmental procedures.
  • Responds promptly to operational issues and technician or pharmacist concerns, facilitating effective problem resolution and a positive work environment.
  • Develops operational reports, analyzes workforce and performance metrics, and communicates findings and recommendations to pharmacy leadership.
  • Leads or participates in technician and departmental meetings, including agenda development, presentations, education, and follow‑up activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
