Job summary

JobRx, Inc. in Cullman, AL is seeking a pharmacy technician to support medication preparation, IV admixture, and unit-dose dispensing. The technician will use Pyxis ES, troubleshoot scanning issues, maintain accurate records, and ensure patient safety.

Shifts may include day, evening, or night to meet patient needs. Strong computer skills with Word and Excel, attention to detail, and good communication are required.

Qualifications

• Six months of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with IV admixture experience.
• Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
• Ability to read, write, prepare and interpret written instructions and make mathematical calculations.
• Must pass the exam by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.

Responsibilities

• Possess patient interaction skills through direct or indirect patient dialogue.
• Work different shifts including day, evening and/or night.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Demonstrate ability to retrieve and use information from Automated Dispensing machines - Pyxis ES, trouble shoot and improve.
• Possess IV compounding of sterile products and other patient specific medications.
• Provide inventory support, process invoices and order medications and supplies.
• Perform all tasks relating to medication reconciliation process.
• Perform unit inspection for all areas that stock medications.
• Trouble shoot "will not scan" medications and maintain functionality and accuracy for unit dose dispensing system.
• Perform accurate record keeping of controlled substances.
• Competent in use of Word, Excel and other Microsoft computer skills.
