Job summary

JobRx, Inc. is seeking a pharmacy technician to assist pharmacists with pre-packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications at our Alabama location.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma, formal technician training, and Alabama State Board registration, with as little as six months of pharmacy experience including IV admixture. Strong reading, math, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of formal pharmacy technician training with satisfactory grades.
• Must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
• Six months of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with IV admixture experience.
• Ability to read, write, interpret written instructions and to perform calculations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; computer skills and pharmacy software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in pre-packaging, labeling and dispensing medications.
• Refill, load and unload and troubleshoot basic problems for automated dispensing machines.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy and free of out-of-date medications.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously; assist with non-clinical questions.
• Assist in any area of pharmacy where workload requires.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory levels and assist in ordering/restocking medications and supplies.
• Demonstrate proficiency in all computer systems used in pharmacy.
• Encourage teamwork and deliver exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
