Job summary

The Town of Holly Springs is seeking a Permit Technician/Certified Permit Technician to support the Development Services department by processing applications and plan reviews for general construction to verify compliance with adopted codes and ordinances. This role also handles administrative duties related to documentation and record keeping of applications and issued permits.

Permit Technicians report to the Permit Supervisor and work Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with occasional evenings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of work experience in building construction, code enforcement or plan review.
• Certified Permit Technician is required to complete NC Building Level I or equivalent.
• Notary public in NC required.

Responsibilities

• Process permits within area of responsibility and issue them.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Issue contractor licenses.
• Assist visitors with submitting plans, payments, and scheduling inspections.
• Draft documents related to permits for staff review.
• Schedule inspections and handle inquiries.
