Pathways to Life, Inc. in Nags Head, NC seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide recovery-oriented coaching and practical support to members in their homes, communities, and office settings.

The role emphasizes using lived experience to foster hope, promote wellness, and help members access resources, develop personal recovery goals, and participate in Person-Centered Plans.

Qualifications

• Current NC Certified Peer Support Specialist certification.
• Personal lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery and ability to use that experience to support others.
• Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group peer support services in members’ homes, community, and office settings.
• Model hope, wellness, resilience, and meaningful change through personal recovery experience.
• Help members identify strengths and establish personal recovery goals.
• Provide WRAP and Wellness Management Recovery (WMR) interventions.
• Teach coping skills, relapse prevention, and self-advocacy.
• Assist members with accessing behavioral health, medical, housing, employment, education, transportation, and community resources.
• Participate in Person-Centered Plan development and updates.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Document services and progress within agency timelines.
• Meet productivity and service-delivery expectations.
