Job summary

SummitStone Health Partners in Fort Collins, CO seeks a Certified Peer Specialist to engage, advocate, and link clients with SummitStone resources using personal recovery experience and CPFS certification.

You will provide direct client care through sessions in-person, by phone, or telehealth, and help connect clients to treatment activities and supports to advance recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado Peer Certification (CPFS) required at time of hire.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use issues with 2+ years of sustained recovery.
• Must not have accrued any new criminal charges in the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care through individual and group sessions face to face, phone or telehealth.
• Connect clients to formal or informal treatment activities, services, and/or support.
• Engage, advocate, and link clients with SummitStone Health resources.
• Cultivate mutual, supportive relationships as clients navigate systems.
• Support clients’ recovery goals with strength-based coaching.

Salary Range: $21.50 To $30.10 Hourly

• Required Certification: Current Colorado Peer Certification (CPFS) through COPA is required at time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Salary Range: $21.50 to $30.10 per hour, based on relevant years of experience
• Status: Full-time 40 hours per week
• Hours: Sunday – Thursday 10:00AM -6:30PM

Employees working at locations operating 24/7 earn a differential. Shift differentials are also available for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Role Overview:

As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will use your life experience from your personal journey of recovery from addiction and/or mental health challenges, along with your Colorado Peer Certification, to engage, advocate, and link clients with SummitStone Health resources.

• Utilizing your life experience from your personal journey of recovery of addiction and/or mental health challenges will perform direct client care for clients needing peer support services.
• Provide direct client care through individual and group sessions face to face, phone or telehealth contact.
• Connects clients to formal or informal treatment activities, services, and/or support.
• Services may be community based and centered around client's recovery goals.
• Peer Specialist cultivates mutual, supportive relationships with clients as they navigate through systems. This looks like highlighting strengths, sitting in discomfort, and walking side-by-side with clients as they move toward goals of their choosing.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current Colorado Peer Certification (CPFS) through COPA is required at the time of hire.
• Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use issues (either personally or as a family member) with 2+ years of sustained recovery required.
• Must not have accrued any new criminal charges within the last 2 years.
• High school diploma or completion of G.E.D. required.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Colorado Peer Certification (CPFS) through COPA (Colorado Practitioners Association) is required at time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire and maintain a satisfactory driving record may be required based on program and location needs. Some positions may require travel to client homes, community partner sites, appointments, and community activities, including the transportation of clients.
• CPR and First Aid certification required at certain locations.
