Job summary

BBH Burrell Behavioral Health in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to support clients in SUD services. You will draw on personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and guide clients toward healing, connecting them with resources and peer support.

Responsibilities include assisting in treatment planning, coordinating with referral sources, and crisis intervention as needed. A supportive, mission-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Self-identify as a current or former client of mental health or substance use services.
• Must be CPS-certified (Certified Peer Specialist).
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete a state-approved training program and, if required, pass Missouri certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in developing treatment plans.
• Maintain regular communication with referral sources and guardians regarding progress and documentation.
• Participate in staffing to ensure continuity of care.
• Refer issues outside the treatment milieu when needed.
• Assist in scheduling treatment and arranging transportation.
• Represent the agency professionally.
• May assist in medical referrals when needed.
• Document all services per state/CARF standards.
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary.
• Facilitate scheduled group education.
• Obtain trainings to meet 36 hours every 2 years.
