Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to provide non-clinical, community-based support to adults with mental health challenges. As a CPS you bring lived experience with mental illness or addiction and serve as a recovery role model, offering hopeful information about wellness.

This is a non-exempt, daytime position primarily Monday through Friday. Benefits begin on day one, including a 403B with employer match, PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Must self-identify as an individual with a serious mental illness and have lived experience.

Responsibilities

• Will provide non-clinical support to individuals in the community.
• As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), you are first and foremost a peer – meaning that you have lived experience with mental illness and/or addiction – and can serve as a role model for recovery values and principles, providing hopeful information about recovery and wellness.
• Will provide stage wise treatment interventions based on the consumer’s stage of change.
