Earn $17.61/hour with the selection of the Enhanced Pay Option.

Position Details

The Certified Peer Specialist provides peer support to individuals, offers guidance and encouragement to promote responsibility and active participation in recovery, and serves as a mentor to foster hope and empowerment. They will share expertise and insights from a mental health perspective concerning symptoms, medication effects, treatment responses, and recovery experiences. This role involves collaborating with the team to foster an environment that recognizes and respects individual experiences, emphasizing self-determination and decision-making in treatment planning.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• High School Degree/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related human service field preferred.
• Must have an active Certified Peer Specialist certification in PA.
• Cannot accept a Certified Recovery Specialist certification.
• Minimum two (2) years of paid or unpaid experience in behavioral health, forensic, sexual offending behaviors, or residential services required.
• Knowledge of severe mental illness, recovery principles, and a recovery-driven service system. Personal experience as a recipient of mental health services and willingness to share experiences to aid recovery is required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• All necessary clearances by OMHSAS required.
