Job summary

Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is seeking a Certificated Peer Recovery Specialist D1 for a 12-8 PM shift. The role focuses on logistical advocacy, mentoring, education, and wellness support for individuals within the Behavioral Health Department (SUD).

A 8-hour shift pattern, and a strong emphasis on abstinence and cultural sensitivity guide the position. Applicants must meet several qualifications including a high school diploma or GED, 18+ years old, and a minimum of 1 year abstinence from

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18+ and able to perform duties.
• One year abstinence from non-prescribed substances required.
• Continued abstinence during employment.
• Familiarity with AA/NA and Wellbriety principles.

Responsibilities

• Transportation to and from community support programs.
• Meet and partner with the client to be a role model, advocate, and mentor.
• Assist clients as necessary while in treatment and recovery.
• Provide liaison between Clients, SUD and Mental Health, Healing to Wellness Court, Drug Court staff and other professionals.
