Qualifications

  • Experience with payroll/HCM systems (Workday) and Excel
  • Proficiency with Power BI and AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT)
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and payroll compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and customer service when working with employees and internal teams

Responsibilities

  • Prepare certified payroll reports (e.g., WH-347) to clients, agencies, and entities on time
  • Handle payroll inquiries; research issues and resolve discrepancies
  • Review payroll transactions and data updates for accuracy
  • Process and audit weekly payroll for prevailing wage projects; ensure correct gross pay, deductions, and overtime
  • Maintain payroll process documentation and assist with audits
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Job description

A Snapshot Of Your Day (position Overview)

As a payroll specialist, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to the North America payroll team, helping ensure payroll activities are completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with internal controls. You will support payroll case management, data validation, reporting, documentation, audit readiness, and coordination with internal stakeholders and payroll providers. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, service-focused, and interested in building payroll operations expertise in a dynamic, compliance-driven environment.

The Certified payroll specialist focuses on payroll administration, service support, issue tracking, reporting, compliance activities, including Prevailing Wages reporting, and operational excellence within an outsourced payroll environment.

How You'll Make An Impact (responsibilities)
  • Prepare, review, and submit certified payroll reports (e.g., WH-347) to clients, government agencies, and other required entities within deadlines
  • Manage payroll-related inquiries by researching issues, resolving discrepancies, and responding to questions about pay, deductions, and time-off accruals.
  • Review payroll transactions, employee data updates, and exception reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process and audit weekly payroll for employees on prevailing wage projects, ensuring accuracy in gross wages, deductions, net pay, and overtime calculations
  • Maintain payroll process documentation, prepare management reports, and support audit activities.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring (requirements)
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience managing prevailing wage payroll and certified payroll reporting (Mandatory)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain numerical accuracy.
  • Experience with payroll or HCM systems, such as Workday, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with Power BI and AI tools, such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding tax regulations, labor laws, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills when working with employees and internal teams.
