Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, GA is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff and deliver high-quality patient care. The role requires CPCT/A, CNA, NCPCT, PCT-C, EMT, and BLS certifications with bedside acute care experience desirable.

You will work the night shift, perform treatments, document care, and participate in safety practices. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication with families, and delivering compassionate care in a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1+ PCT experience preferred; bedside patient care in acute care preferred.
• BLS CPR, CNA, CPCT/A, NCPCT, PCT-C, EMT certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows isolation guidelines, uses PPE correctly, and maintains hand hygiene and safety standards.
• Assists in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports procedures per department policy.
• Obtains nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs and performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.

• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]
