Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate care across acute care units. Assists with assessments, basic patient comfort, and routine procedures under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of related PCT experience; BLS/CPR and CNA/NHA equivalents are required. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and patient-centered care at AdventHealth facilities.

Qualifications

• Work Experience: 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Assists in delivering patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Job Description

Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse. Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy. Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse. Assists in identifying patient needs Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $15.46 - $24.73
