Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL is hiring a Night shift Patient Care Technician / Certified Nursing Assistant. You will perform treatments, assist a registered nurse, and ensure safety and quality of patient care in a 12-hour night rotation.

The role requires a CNA and multiple certifications, including BLS, with priority on bedside patient care in acute settings. High School diploma or equivalent is required; prior bedside care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification required.
• CNA certification required.
• CPCT/A certification required.
• NCPCT certification required.
• PCT-C certification required.
• EMT certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments and patient care per policy and patient age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Assist in clinical emergencies and support quality initiatives.
• Follow isolation, PPE, hygiene, and safety guidelines; maintain clean, safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team; document procedures.
• Assist in nursing history taking and identify patient needs; collaborate with RNs.

Job Description

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]
