Job summary

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV is hiring a Nurse Aide / Patient Care Technician to support licensed staff in delivering high-quality patient care. You will assist with daily living activities, observe patient conditions, and communicate changes to the nurse on duty.

The role is non-exempt with a 36-hour week, shift-based work, requiring a HS diploma, BLS within 30 days, and respective state CNA/PCT credentials.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must meet one of the following: nationally certified patient care technician, WVU Patient Care Technician program completion, or Certified Nursing Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns/changes in condition to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists in admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists with personal hygiene and comfort measures.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports equipment repairs promptly according to procedures.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostics.
• Communicates nutrition concerns to the RN and supports diet changes.
• Assists with department administrative tasks and relays patient messages.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

BLS certification within 30 days of hire
