Certified Patient Care Assistant Cardiac Progressive Care Unit

Join us for the Certified Patient Care Assistant Cardiac Progressive Care Unit role at Banner Health.

Overview

Banner University Medical Center Tucson is seeking a Certifed Patient Care Assistant to join our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. The Cardiothoracic Intermediate Care Unit (6EW) specializes in caring for adult post-surgical cardio-thoracic patients, including those with heart transplants, lung transplants, and left-ventricular assist devices. Our unit is a 24-bed facility caring for patients recovering from various cardiac and thoracic surgeries, such as CABG, valve replacements, and minimally invasive procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and promote patient comfort.
• Collect patient data, including vital signs and specimens, and document accurately.
• Recognize and report health status changes to licensed professionals.
• Assist with procedures like blood draws, catheter removals, and EKGs under supervision.
• Support unit operations through clerical duties, supply management, and documentation.
• Transport patients and assist with unit-specific procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Current BLS certification and CNA license in Arizona.
• 1 year of medical clerical or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills, and ECG interpretation skills.

Work Details

• Full-time Night Shift (3 12-hour shifts, 7pm-7:30am).
• Weekend rotations and rotating holidays required.
• Shift differentials applicable.
