Job summary

Job description

The Town of Washington is accepting applications from POST Certified Police Officers for the position of part‑time Police Officer. Applicants must be a resident of Connecticut, possess a valid CT driver’s license at the time of appointment, and possess a valid and active CT POST Certification, to include being in good standing with your former Department/ Agency.

Applicants will be required to sit for and take a written examination, oral board examination, and are subject to an extensive background investigation. Said investigation will include, but not limited to a Polygraph, Psychological, Medical Evaluation, and Military/Employment personnel record review.

The Town of Washington offers the current rate of $38.50 an hour, 40 hours of sick time per year, 3 personal days per year and 20 hours of vacation time after six months of service, increasing to 40 hours of vacation time after twelve months of service. Patrol shifts include days, evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Position is eligible and includes private duty details.
