The Town of Thomaston is seeking POST Certified Police Officers for the position of Police Officer. There are two full-time positions with potential for additional openings.

Applicants must be a CT resident, hold a CT driver’s license, and have POST Certification or be an active CT State Police Trooper in good standing. The Thomaston Police Department is also hiring three part-time Certified Police Officers.

• POST Certified Police Officer or active CT State Police Trooper in good standing required.
• Applicants must pass oral and written examinations and a thorough background investigation.

The Town of Thomaston is accepting applications from POST Certified Police Officers for the position of Police Officer. There is currently Two full-time position with a possibility of additional positions becoming available. Applicants must be a resident of CT, possess a valid CT driver's license at time of appointment, and possess a valid and active CT POST Certification OR an active Connecticut State Police Trooper in good standing.

The Thomaston Police Department is also hiring (3) Part-time Certified Police Officers.

Applicants will be required to sit for an Oral Panel Examination, take a written examination, and be subject to an extensive background investigation. Said investigation will include, but not necessarily limited to, Polygraph, Psychological, Medical Evaluation, Military/Employment personnel record review, and Chiefs interviews.

The Town of Thomaston offers a competitive salary and benefits package including

• and a 4-2 schedule for Patrol Officers.

Lateral Hires are brought in at Grade (B) rate of pay and 120hrs of vacation time.

Starting Salary Grade (B) Laterals Per current CBA $76,028. (Effective 07/01/2026 $80,028)
