Job summary

Vancouver Clinic is hiring a Certified Optician to join our Ophthalmology team in Camas, WA. This role involves fitting and adjusting glasses, teaching patients wear/care, and ensuring prescriptions are dispensed accurately.

The ideal candidate has optical experience, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. ABO certification and WA Apprentice credential are preferred. HIPAA knowledge and lens materials familiarity are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO certification required.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a dispensing or fabricating optician.
• Apprentice: WA State Optician Apprentice credential must be obtained.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, optical terminology, frame styles, and lens material options preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fit and adjust glasses and eyewear based on prescription, lifestyle and needs.
• Ensure orders are received and dispensed as prescribed.
• Teach patients how to wear and care for their eyewear.
• Adjust or repair current frames as needed.
