Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) to support outpatient eye care under supervision of a licensed clinician. The role performs ophthalmic testing and imaging, prepares patients for examinations and procedures, and assists with clinical services.

Responsibilities include administering diagnostic eye drops, assisting ophthalmologists with minor procedures, obtaining vital signs, maintaining exam rooms, and supporting administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• COA certification required (JCAHPO).
• Minimum 6 months ophthalmology clinic experience or ICA training completion.

Responsibilities

• Perform vision and ocular testing, imaging, and assessments to prep patients for exams.
• Identify and administer diagnostic eye drops per clinician directive.
• Assist with minor office procedures (laser, injections, cryotherapy, oculoplastic) under supervision.
