Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for PRN rehab coverage. The role supports delivery of patient care under supervision of an Occupational Therapist and involves maintaining records while collaborating with physicians and nurses.

The position requires an associate degree in therapy, Texas COTA/OTA eligibility, and prior rehab experience. BLS must be obtained within 30 days. A minimum of two shifts per four weeks is expected.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree from a therapy program is required.
• COTA or OTA certification through the state of Texas.
• Experience in a rehab setting is required.
• Must work a minimum of 2 shifts per 4 week rotation.

• Provide care across neonate to geriatric populations.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in the delivery of patient care as established by the licensed Occupational Therapist to reach treatment goals through a written treatment plan. The COTA will be responsible for maintaining patient records. The COTA maintains good communication with physicians, licensed therapists, nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, discharge planners, and hospital personnel. The COTA participates in continuous quality improvement and strives to excel in customer service. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant/child, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The COTA actively participates in occupational therapy activities and inservices training.

What qualifications you will need?

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree from a therapy program is required as a minimum
• (COTA) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or (OTA) Occupational Therapy Assistant through the state of Texas
• Experience in a rehab setting is required
• Must work a minimum of 2 shifts per 4 week rotation
