Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to deliver therapeutic interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist in a collaborative, interdisciplinary setting. The role includes supporting treatment plans, ADL training, and patient education in a Muncie, Indiana environment.

Qualifications include an accredited OTA program and an Indiana OTA license; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve their functional abilities.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy and progress.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and families on home exercises and adaptive techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques aimed at improving their functional abilities and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
