Job summary

Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. You will work under an Occupational Therapist to support residents in regaining independence and daily function in a skilled nursing setting.

This flexible PRN role emphasizes collaborative care, accurate documentation, and education for residents and staff. Prior skilled nursing experience is helpful but not required, and lifting up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state license or registration as a COTA.
• Experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Implement OT treatment plans under the supervising OT.
• Assist residents in improving functional mobility and ADLs.
• Document treatment sessions and progress per facility policies.
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families.
• Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on therapy techniques and home programs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement.
• Travel to nearby affiliated facilities as needed.

As a valued member of our therapy team, you'll work alongside an experienced Occupational Therapist to help residents regain independence, improve daily function, and enhance their overall quality of life in a supportive skilled nursing environment.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant provides treatment interventions, implements individualized care plans, and monitors resident progress while promoting safe, effective rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Assist residents in improving functional mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), and independence.
• Accurately document treatment sessions, resident progress, and outcomes in accordance with facility policies.
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and family members to achieve the best possible resident outcomes.
• Educate residents, caregivers, and staff on therapy techniques, safety, and home exercise programs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
• Travel to nearby affiliated facilities as needed to meet resident care needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state license or registration as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely assist residents with transfers and mobility, including lifting up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
