Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support therapy services in a long-term care or skilled setting. You will assist with therapy activities, monitor progress, and document outcomes under an occupational therapist's supervision.

Required licensure as an OTA in the practicing states and NBCOT certification for Sanford facilities. BLS is required within six months of employment; valid driver’s license may be needed for certain locations.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
• When working at a Sanford Health Facility: NBCOT certification is required.
• Conforms to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided.
• May require valid driver's license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides, monitors and records therapy services to patients with physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial impairments.
• Selects, implements and modifies therapeutic activities aligned with patient goals and regulatory requirements.
• Contributes to the process by exchanging information with the occupational therapist about patient responses to intervention.
• Responsible for knowledge about targeted OT outcomes and reporting related to outcome achievement.
• Follows accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organization.
• Performs other related duties as requested; may focus on post-acute, long-term care, or home health environments as needed.
