Job summary

Qualifications

• Communication/Language Skills — Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical information. Ability to effectively communicate with residents, their families and other healthcare professionals. Ability to present information to supervisor.
• Reasoning Ability — Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Follow physicians’ orders for resident care and follow directions of the occupational therapist.
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of function possible within their physical abilities.
• Provide appropriate treatment, preventative measures and adaptive equipment to prevent decline in residents' function.
• Maintain timely and accurate resident reports as required by federal, state and local regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
• Observe infection control procedures and ensure safety of residents.
• Collaborate with residents, their families, facility staff and healthcare providers.
• Attend compliance programs and adhere to facility policies and Residents' Rights policies.
• Protect privacy and confidentiality of resident information.
