Job summary

MercyOne Elkader Medical Center in Elkader, IA is seeking a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a day shift (20 hours/week). This role supports a Level IV trauma center in a rural community and offers opportunities for growth within MercyOne Health System.

Under general supervision of an OTR, the COTA screens, assesses, implements and provides occupational therapy treatment for patients.

Qualifications

• Certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NCBOT)
• Associate degree as Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
• Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Screens, assesses, implements and provides occupational therapy treatment for patients under supervision
• Assists the OTR in the evaluation process
• Provides direct patient care for ages from infants to geriatrics in accordance with departmental policy

We are looking to hire a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at MercyOne, you will be under general supervision of OTR, the COTA screens, assesses, implements and provides occupational therapy treatment for patients. The COTA assists the OTR in the evaluation process. Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with departmental policy. The age of the patients served range in age from infants to geriatrics.

Schedule:
