Job summary

Oasis Rehabilitation and Nursing in New York is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a temporary full-time position with potential to become permanent. This in-person role supports residents in long-term care, collaborating with an OT to implement rehab plans.

Duties include selecting therapy activities, assisting with daily tasks, supervising activities, and reporting progress. Requirements: graduate of an accredited COTA program; LTC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited COTA Program.
• Experience in Long Term Care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities to fit Residents' needs and capabilities.
• Assist Residents in carrying out daily activities.
• Monitor Residents' performance in therapy activities, providing encouragement.
• Teach Residents how to use special equipment to assist with daily function.
• Work in collaboration with the OT to establish a rehabilitation plan.
• Supervise Residents' activities to ensure they are done properly.
• Report the Resident's progress to the OT.
