Job Location: Tucson, AZ 85712

Salary: $35.00 hourly

Shift: Day (PRN days)

Overview

The primary purpose of a Certified Occupational Therapists Assistant is to plan, organize, develop and direct our facility’s Physical/Occupational Therapy Services in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be maintained at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services – to include patients and family
  • Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating patient care plans for individual patients in coordination and conjunction with the patients assessment
  • Brief patient of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment – reassure patient before and during therapy treatment
  • Determine proper equipment usage, application and body position, make adjustments when necessary in the administration of physical therapy treatments
  • Recommend modifications or changes in the patient’s therapy program based on evaluation of progress
  • Ensure that all therapy notes are informative, descriptive and follow Company’s policy and procedures

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current and valid fingerprint clearance card (FPCC)
  • Must possess a current and valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
  • Must possess a current and valid CPR certification
  • Must pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test
  • One year’s experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must possess the ability to tactfully work with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle difficult residents
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
  • Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements, and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
