Nassau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hempstead, NY is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. This full-time opportunity provides a competitive hourly rate to support helping patients improve their independence and quality of life.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in OTA, NBCOT certification, current state licensure, and at least 2 years of experience; nursing home experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program.
• NBCOT certification.
• Current state licensure/certification as required.
• Nursing home or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized patient treatment plans
• Conduct therapeutic activities under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
• Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising OT
• Instruct patients and families on treatment plans and proper use of therapeutic equipment
• Support patients in improving cognitive, physical, and emotional functioning
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Modify treatment plans in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist as needed
• Educate patients and families on daily tasks and rehabilitation activities
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes
