Location: Student Services

Role Description: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) provide services to eligible students with disabilities (PK-12th) and adult students in the district’s transition program (18-21 years), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT). COTAs support students' participation in daily school activities, including academic, social, recess, and self-help skills. They collaborate with educators to enhance student performance.

Qualifications:

• Complete or currently enrolled in an accredited OTA program from an AOTA-certified school.
• Possess or qualify for Washington state license through the Department of Health.
• Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.
• Knowledge of strength-focused strategies, trauma-informed, and social-emotional learning (SEL) practices.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities.
• Understanding of how injustice or racial inequity impacts students and families.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to follow directions, seek clarity, and act proactively.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
• Punctuality and reliable attendance.
