Job summary

Maxima Therapy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide 1:1 therapy in children’s homes or daycares in the San Francisco area. The role offers flexible scheduling, including part-time or full-time opportunities, with reimbursement for travel and toys.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

We are looking for dynamic, creative, and committed Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) to join our transdisciplinary therapy team comprised of speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and child development specialists. The position entails a flexible work schedule, providing individual services to children ages from birth to 3 years of age with varying delays at clients homes or daycares. We offer competitive rates of up to $65 per hour*, drive time, mileage and toys reimbursement. We also have an excellent benefits package for eligible employees which includes: medical insurance, paid time off (PTO) and a flexible schedule.

Schedule:

• We use proprietary software and AI for clinician-client matching
• Clinicians have autonomy to select clients
• Flexibility in scheduling: part-time or full-time opportunities
• Workload range: 10 to 40 hours per week
• Client selection can occur at clinicians convenience

COTA Duties:

• 1:1 treatment in clients homes or daycare settings
• Provide parent education and support
• Collaborate with team members
• Take/submit progress notes as required
• Reliable car, proof of auto insurance, and a valid drivers license
• Proof of immunization records, CPR certification, and current, negative TB test
• State licensure/certification from the California Board of Occupational Therapy (COTA/OTA)
• Strong work ethic, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; team-oriented
• Multilingual speaking/reading/writing skills are a plus

COTA Physical Requirements:

• Therapy activities may require playing on the floor or settings where the furniture is child-sized
• Careful attention to the safety of the client and surroundings is required
• Sudden and quick movements may be required
• Walking, occasional running, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting,
• Reaching above the head, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Sustained physical activity may be required for up to 60 minutes

*Pay Rate: The professional rate for this position is up to $65/hr for time spent in sessions providing therapy services directly to the consumer; drive time and mileage reimbursement will be compensated at the applicable minimum wage and mileage reimbursement rate. The actual wage rate offered will vary based on several key factors including, but not limited to, the candidates skill set, proficiency in relevant languages, years of professional experience, and the geographical location of the candidate.
