Job summary

King Manor Care and Rehab Center in Neptune City, NJ is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to implement OT programs and provide treatments under a registered OT supervision.

The role focuses on resident independence, ADLs, and ROM exercises, with benefits including health insurance, 401K, and paid time off. Schedule options include full-time, part-time, and per diem to fit a flexible care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program; eligible for AOTA certification.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as required by the state.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides OT treatments including ADLs and range of motion exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations under the Occupational Therapist’s direction.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the OT.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in OT techniques under the OT supervision.
• Works with rehab team to develop programs matching resident needs and abilities.
• Maintains timely patient documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends care and staff meetings as a representative of OT.
• Identifies and reports equipment repair needs.
• Delivers high-quality care in a compassionate environment respecting residents’ rights.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;
• 2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;
• 3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
• 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;
• 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
• 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• 2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
