Job summary

Sterling Therapy Providers seeks a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to support residents under the supervision of a Registered OT, implementing therapy programs and facilitating independence through activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.

The position offers hourly pay of $40 to $42, plus benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401K, holiday pay, paid time off and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program certified by AOTA.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan under OT supervision.
• Provides OT treatments including ADLs and ROM exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations under OT direction.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with OT input.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in OT techniques.
• Collaborates with rehab team to tailor programs to resident needs.
• Maintains timely documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends resident care and staffing meetings as OT representative.
• Cleans and reports need for equipment repair.
• Ensures high quality service that respects resident rights.

RATE: $40 to $42 PER HOUR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;
• 2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;
• 3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
• 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;
• 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
• 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• 2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.
