Sterling Therapy Providers is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in East Bridgewater, MA, to implement OT programs under a supervising OT and help residents increase independence and function.

The role emphasizes ADL training, ROM exercises and group activities, with strong documentation and teamwork within the rehabilitation staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by AOTA; eligible for certification by NBCOT.
• Licensed and/or eligible for state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Implements residents' individualized treatment plans as defined by the supervising OT.
• Provides OT treatments including ADLs and ROM exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations under the direction of the OT.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with OT input.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers in OT techniques under supervision.
• Collaborates with rehabilitation team to develop resident-specific programs.
• Maintains timely documentation for residents treated.
• Attends care and staff meetings as a rep of OT.
• Maintains and reports on equipment as needed.
• Delivers compassionate care respecting residents' needs and rights.

Full-Time Pay Rate: $32 to $40 PER HOUR

Per Diem Pay Rate; $40 to $42 PER HOUR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;
2. 2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;
3. 3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
4. 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
5. 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;
6. 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
7. 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
8. 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
9. 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
10. 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. 1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
2. 2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.
