Job summary

Putnam Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in New York is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. You will collaborate with Occupational Therapists to help residents improve ADLs, mobility, and independence.

Qualifications

• Current NYS COTA license in good standing.
• Certification through AOTCB required.
• Experience in skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing therapy treatment programs.
• Provide therapy services to improve ADLs, mobility, and functional independence.
• Document therapy sessions and resident progress accurately.
• Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide adaptive equipment and recommend environmental modifications.
• Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques and plans.
• Maintain therapy supplies, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Follow facility policies and rehabilitation documentation standards.

Our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work closely with Occupational Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to help residents improve activities of daily living (ADLs), strength, and independence. Requirements

• Current COTA license in good standing with the NYS Board of Education.
• Certification through AOTCB required.
• Experience in skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, PRI, and care planning preferred.
• Covid-19 vaccinations are encouraged but NOT MANDATED; we continue to offer COVID-19 vaccination based on eligibility guidance from CDC
