Interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged to address a wide range of developmental and functional needs. Team members work in a structured, supportive environment designed to help clients build meaningful skills and achieve measurable progress.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) role based in Washington, MI. The COTA will support licensed occupational therapists in delivering therapy services to autistic children and adolescents in the clinic setting. Daily responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, guiding clients through therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and activities of daily living, and documenting session notes and progress. The role involves collaborating with ABA therapists and other team members, preparing and organizing therapy materials, and assisting with parent and caregiver education to support carryover of strategies at home. The COTA will also help maintain a safe, engaging therapy environment and contribute to program development as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation to effectively support treatment plans and functional skill development.
• Candidates should possess skills in Patient Care and Home Care to promote safety, independence, and carryover of strategies across settings.
• Candidates should possess skills in Program Development to assist in creating and refining therapy activities aligned with client goals.
• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and active state licensure (or eligibility) in Michigan.
• Experience or strong interest in working with autistic individuals and in interdisciplinary settings that may include ABA services.
• Effective communication skills, professional documentation abilities, and strong organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to safely assist clients in a clinic environment, including occasional lifting or positioning, and to follow all safety and compliance procedures.
• CPR/First Aid certification and prior pediatric or developmental therapy experience are preferred.
