Company Description Therapy for Life (TFL) offers a classroom-based 1:1 ABA therapy model that helps children learn alongside peers while receiving individualized support. Children at TFL benefit from daily speech therapy and occupational therapy each week, all provided within the same setting. Each classroom is led and supervised throughout the day by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), ensuring consistent, expert guidance. Role Description The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide direct, hands-on occupational therapy interventions to children in a ABA setting, supporting individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing therapeutic activities to build fine motor, sensory, self-care, and functional skills; documenting sessions; monitoring progress; and collaborating with BCBAs, speech therapists, teachers, and families to ensure coordinated care. The COTA will assist with planning and adapting classroom and play environments to support functional independence and engagement, and may help prepare materials for therapy sessions and group activities. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Houston, TX, requiring consistent presence in the classroom and participation in team meetings, trainings, and family conferences as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation to implement treatment plans and support functional skill development.

• Demonstrated commitment to high-quality Patient Care and family-centered support in pediatric and autism therapy settings.
• Experience with Program Development, including helping design, adapt, and refine therapeutic activities and classroom-based interventions.
• Ability to coordinate with Home Care plans, carryover activities, and caregiver training to support progress across environments.
• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and active state license (or eligibility) in Texas.
• Experience working with children with autism or developmental differences in clinical, school, or community settings is highly beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
• Capacity to stand, move, and participate in active play, and safely assist children with mobility and self-care tasks.
